Christian Book Review

Knowing God's Will by Blaine Smith is a book I read a few years ago, but I still consider it one of the best guidance books for mature Christians (outside of the Bible, of course).

If the church is 30, how old is the Pastor?

His hair does have some gray in it and he's started making jokes about his eye sight...on the anniversary of the mission that became Fort Graham Baptist Church maybe we should give Brother Allan a makeover! How can we spice up the good ol' pastor's image?

Here are my ideas:
1. Instead of calling him Brother Allan, we could shorten it to "Bro"
2. Someone could convince him to wear flip flops with his suits on Sunday morning
3. We could all chip in for some aviator sunglasses (with bifocals, of course)

Anyone else have an idea?

Let's close with some little known church history in celebration of our 30th birthday!

Did you know...
...Fort Graham was first called Northlake Baptist Mission
...the church met for a while in a home, then in an emptied blue metal gas station/pool hall
...the first deacons had the task of cleaning out the gas station's walk in freezer--there were giant glow-in-the-dark eyes painted on the back wall
...the current sanctuary was framed and roofed in one week in July of 1992
...we once baptized in the lake when it was February
...there is a bell in the steeple

Happy 30th everyone! See you at the concert on Sunday!
